ESCROW OFFICER

MCKINNEY, TX

The Escrow Officer will report to the VP of Corporate and Legal Affairs and will work closely with the personnel across the operations, underwriting, closing and accounting departments (working with pretty much everyone). 

 

The Escrow Officer’s responsibilities include ensuring the proper execution and delivery of title and settlement services throughout the State of Texas and that these services are delivered in strict compliance with all title and escrow regulations. (Of course, there are one or two other things which will come up from time to time.)

 

What you’ll be doing on a daily basis:

·        Monitor workflows to prioritize tasks

·        Review title searches for issues to clear

·        Prepare preliminary and final closing disclosures

·        Quality review, preparation and delivery of loan closing documents

·        Ensure files are ready to close as outlined in our service level agreements with customers

·        Complete transactional tasks as requested by customer

·        Calculate fees for transactions and ensuring accuracy

·        Raise process or systemic issues you identify

·        Assist team members in all other functions as assigned by management

 

Skills:

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required

·        Full understanding of title and closing process

·        Comprehensive knowledge of closing disclosures and disbursement documents

·        Ability to accurately calculate payoffs, tax payments and related adjustments

·        Strong knowledge in document requirements in the State of Texas

·        Strong knowledge of Texas Department of Insurance rules and regulations

·        Ability to work independently and effectively with minor supervision

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

·        Excellent customer service skills required

·        Ability to stay focused and maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting daily task and process deadlines

·        Willingness to cross train and change responsibilities

 

Minimum Requirements:

·        A high level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required

·        Bachelor’s degree preferred

·        Notary Public Commission a plus
