Information Security Data Protection Lead

The Information Security Data Protection Lead will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and governance of data protection strategy, technologies, and processes. The Data Protection Lead role is by nature, technical, but heavy focus will be on strategic planning, information security consulting and collaboration with other groups involved in data management and protection. The Information Security Data Protection Lead works closely with the Data Privacy Officer to ensure implementation of appropriate security controls to protect sensitive data. This position will also be responsible for data and analytics, metrics, and reporting in relation to the DLP Program. The DP Lead serves as a business analyst and will be the subject matter expert who advises business teams, other IT teams, projects, and vendors regarding data protection. This position is also responsible for maintaining and maturing InfoSec’s data analytics and metrics reporting strategy. The Information Security Data Protection Lead reports to the Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of experience managing a data protection program
  • 3+ years of experience designing, engineering, and managing DLP technologies


Knowledge / Skills:

  • 2+ year of experience with M365 DLP
  • Familiarity with various compliance standards and control frameworks (e.g. PCI, JSOX, NIST)
  • Solid business acumen; understands how data protection supports business strategy
  • Thinks strategically and possesses strong analytical capabilities
  • Works well on a team but can also work with minimal supervision
  • Collaborates and works effectively with others
  • Self-starter, with intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working through change
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with various levels within the organization, from Analysts to Executives
  • Experience with the implementation of DLP programs and technologies
  • Advanced degree or certifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Leadership or Management of a team
  • Project management methodologies



  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CIAM, CISSP, CISA, ITIL, etc.)
