We are seeking a Test Engineer to be a member of an Agile software development team in the Information Services (IS) Department. As a senior test engineer on the EDI Claims Services team, this person will work on next-generation hybrid EDI processing and claims adjudication system leveraging Facets, Facets HIPAA Gateway, and AWS Cloud Services. We are looking for individuals who relish technical challenges, building new test processes, testing new APIs, and validating new hybrid systems that will transform a business. This work will require a technically creative mindset as the new mechanisms of test automation, validation, and quality assurance will need to be implemented to support the new technical direction.
As a senior test engineer, he/she will be expected to work well within their agile team, foster collaboration, mentor teammates and other members of the IS Department, and provide opinion and expertise on technical issues all while embracing Agile Principles and Values. Test Engineers design, development and implement testing procedures; creation of test plans, test cases, test data, and scripts to support testing objectives; implementation of quality assurance and testing methodologies, processes, standards, and tools
The Test Engineer assures adherence to Quality Assurance, testing standards, continuously evaluate effectiveness of testing processes. Engage with Vendors & Business teams, review and analyze business requirements. Work with Agile team members review and analyze, technical specifications and define feasibility of testing efforts. Performs technical administration, QA, testing, and support functions for Information Services. On-call support is a requirement for any Test Engineer position.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Work as an effective team member in an Agile Scrum or Kanban team and Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for QA Testing techniques.
Providing technical expertise and mentoring to their fellow Agile team members and members of other teams.
Gather and analyze complex business functional requirements, system requirements /user specifications
Develop test plans and test cases for complex applications, and ensure they support testing objectives.
Combine business and technical knowledge to gain agreement and implement solutions within cross-functional teams.
Verify & Validate the correctness of software using manual and automated testing strategies.
Verify & Validate performance of software using load testing and other strategies
Create or Request for Test Data for various business scenarios of complex systems.
Ensure Test Cases are executed and document test results in TFS (MTM)
Implement and verify hybrid system functionality.
Ensures issue, defects are documented in TFS, escalated and monitored
Engage with Business & Vendor Teams, assist in UAT, document, track defects and monitored.
Ensure compliance with established QA Testing methodologies, processes, standards and tools
Evaluate and escalate all unresolved issues to as appropriate.
Triage defects, and production tickets appropriately and assist development team in solution implementation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate Degree plus 6 years of demonstrated test engineering experience in an enterprise environment OR;
Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of demonstrated test engineering experience in an enterprise environment OR
6 year degree plus 2 years of demonstrated test engineering experience in an enterprise environment OR
8 years of demonstrated test engineering experience in an enterprise environment
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Healthcare experience includes working with healthcare data, working with Trizetto Facets and an understanding of its database schema, experience working with HIPAA EDI formats, and experience with Facets HIPAA Gateway configuration and building custom processes with it
