HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER - MANUFACTURING

HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA

Health, safety and environmental (HSE) manager plan, coordinate and implement policies, procedures and strategies within the organization.

HSE manager ensures safe working conditions for all employees, and interested parties working to prevent accidents, infections, illnesses, injuries and property loss due to natural causes or daily life circumstances. He/She ensures environmental compliance and programs are in place to reduce and control environmental impacts.                                         

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

Put in place HSE Standards Operational Procedures

Coach risk assessments

Support design risk mitigation measures

Develop all the required documentation, operational checks and reports for the HSE Management System to be compliant with ISO4500 and ISO 14001 standards, and client's requirements.

Coordinate HSE improvement actions

Monitor HSE controllers in executing continuous audits/inspections.

Manage the HSE controllers and coordinate their audit schedule.

Provide HSE improvement proposals stating: the non-conformance, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation.

Support Incident Investigation and the root cause analysis

Coordinate and participate in the investigation of accidents and near misses.

Manage HSE complaints put forward by staff members, customers, clients and contractors and report the result to the HSE manager.

Follows up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and ensures that any certification requirements are complied with.

Audit work

Assist with the implementation of Job Safety Analysis and inspect job site activities during particularly difficult or hazardous work situations.  

Coordinate HSE meetings.

Review and analyze accidents and near miss incidents and making corrective action recommendations.

Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency.

Maintains records of such drills, providing recommendations for emergency response improvements.

Supervises the regular inspection of firefighting, safety and emergency response equipment. Assist in developing and implementing field location emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.

Supervise on-site doctors and medical emergency response preparation and implementation.

Ensure that operations employees, contractors and site visitors receive HSE training.

Responsible for preparing written weekly and monthly HSE reports, statistics and presentations related to HSE performance.

WORKCOMP and emergency case management

Plan, perform and evaluate internal audit for SOGEFI

Report to the HSE Corporate weekly

Report to OSHA and all required governmental organizations HSE performance

Assist Environmental permits and track legal compliance

 

 

Qualifications

 

Ms. Safety and Environmental Management.

Certify training as Auditor

Leadership
