Job Summary

The role of Project Management Expert is to provide to all engineers within the Diagnostics Division, knowledge leadership across a small number of disciplines that have been identified as key to ensure safety of operation of the asset base and to support the professional delivery in specific technical areas in individual projects.


Project Management Experts are experts in their respective field, with the drive, passion, knowledge and capability to set relevant standards and to encourage, coach and train other engineers in those specific areas, through:

  • Maintaining and delivering personal expertise in the aspects of this field applicable to operations in the corresponding projects.

  • Providing up-to-date and relevant expert technical knowledge and leadership in support of all Diagnostic business areas.

  • Seek out, identify, communicate and encourage examples of best practices in the engineering community

  • Proactively support sites and business area to maintain technical capability at appropriate levels, mainly by engaging in the relevant project in their region and area of focus


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and contribute to the Diagnostic Global Engineering community and works as a member of the Regional Engineering organization

  • Maintain their own expertise up to date through contact with external bodies, membership of relevant external organizations and peer contacts inside and outside the  organization.

  • Ensure that Regional and site Engineering Teams understand how to apply leading edge, value added, solutions and options in their specific areas of expertise

  • Have a deep involvement on the Projects in the USA (initially in Branchburg expansion)

  • Provide technical leadership that is differentiated across the various types of operations in Diagnostics and which are valued by the various businesses (primarily in the USA)

  • Proactively support sites by regular contact / visits sharing best practice and identifying performance and potential improvement opportunities.

  • Participate in corresponding activity based networks.

  • Ensures that incident learning and best practice are adopted


Minimum Qualifications

  • Hold an engineering degree (Bachelor) in University or equivalent

  • Have at least 10 years or more of relevant experience broadly in engineering and in particular in Manufacturing Projects requiring equipment implementation.

  • Have a long experience in engaging and influencing people / team on a key technical expertise aspects from at least 3 Years

  • Be recognized as an expert in their technical area of excellence

  • Have advanced knowledge and experience in the execution of engineering projects involving equipment in chemical process, compounding, filling, packaging, and logistics flows., Possess a deep understanding of commissioning and qualification activities.

  • Speak English fluently.

  • Have project management experience across various locations

  • Be flexible to travel (up to at least 30% of the time)



  • Have good interpersonal relationships and ability to operate in a matrix organization. Coaching style when dealing with knowledge transfer.

  • Forward looking & keen interest in maintaining technical excellence

  • Ability to interact, persuade and influence peers and all relevant senior stakeholders is essential.
