Sr. Manager Strategy and Business Development for Precision Diagnosis

The Precision Diagnosis (PD) businesses are continuously looking for opportunities to further expand reach and impact in Healthcare – both through organic innovation as well as opportunities for scale and scope through organic investments, partnerships and acquisitions.
As Senior Manager Strategy and Business Development PD, you will work side by side with the PD Business Leaders and Strategy, M&A and partnership team. You will have a significant impact on driving growth and will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of people in a large variety of teams throughout the organization.


You are responsible for

Defining PD strategies and new business development initiatives. Furthermore, you will manage, develop execution of organic and inorganic strategy. Key areas of responsibility:

  • Drive strategy project work streams or projects, guided by management team;
  • Conduct high quality, meaningful, evidence-based business analyses;
  • Build and communicate actionable strategy recommendations;
  • Lead and negotiate several inorganic business development projects or contracts.
  • Actively coach and develop junior team members during project.


You are part of

The cluster Precision Diagnosis and Strategy, M&A and Partnerships function. The PD business cluster consists of multiple imaging, informatics and solutions businesses (DXR, MR, CT, AMI, Ultrasound, Imaging Components, Enterprise Diagnostic Informatics, Precision Diagnosis Solutions). The PD business sits at the core of the health continuum – delivering integrated solutions and focusing on particularly on the clinical spaces Radiology, Cardiology, Oncology, Pathology, Neurology and others. These businesses and their operations are located across North America, Europe and China.


As Senior Manager Strategy and Business Development PD you closely work with content experts, different marketing departments as well as pooled resources from broader Philips, e.g. strategy, M&A, marketing intelligence.
You will report into the Head of Strategy and Business Development Precision Diagnosis. The position is based in Cambridge/Boston, Massachusetts.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

We are looking for a talented business development professional with a proven track-record and significant growth potential with the following skills and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of strategy and business development experience in a corporate with a MBA (or for non-MBA candidates: minimum 8 years)
  • Strategic thinker and excellent business modelling skills
  • HealthTech (Healthcare, Medical technology) knowledge is a prerequisite
  • Proven track record of successfully building external networks and developing (converting) a pipeline of inorganic growth opportunities with leading, complementary industry peers
  • A willingness to travel (20%)
