Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced systems applications engineer specializing in the deployment, integration and support of systems development and tools on both Windows and Unix platforms including client and server environments. This role will provide application support for individual users, roll out tool environments to program teams and act as project manager for deploying enterprise-wide applications or upgrades to the systems engineering community.

Job Responsibilities:      

  • Ability to work within cross functional teams, contributing to the overall planning of projects, recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines                   
  • Effectively communicates issues and alternative solutions. Takes initiative to achieve value added results and improve upon solutions offered              
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves incidents and problems within the systems discipline             
  • Leads application architecture development and software upgrade rollout plans             
  • Works with Systems Engineering Leadership on road mapping engineering capabilities and initiatives. Responsible for developing and executing to a strategic plan for the systems tools discipline               
  • Maintains relationships with multiple vendors; stays current with offerings, own software renewal strategies, and works on capability roadmaps          
  • Performs functional management responsibilities following our HR processes including performance reviews, goal setting, and team development             
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly


  • Bachelors’ degree in Systems Engineering or Technology related field and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience   
  • At least 4 years of experience with Systems requirements or model based systems engineering (MBSE) applications such as IBM Rational products (DOORs), Dassault No Magic MagicDraw  
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a functional or project team              

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision                    
    • Working knowledge of both the Windows and Unix operating systems
    • Experience driving continuous improvement projects and change management
    • Experience working with teams, individuals, and suppliers to troubleshoot application and process problems, implementing RCCA (root cause, corrective actions)
    • Customer focused, service oriented, well organized
    • Demonstrates the ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing environments, meet project deadlines, and show attention to detail    
    • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment yet remained focused on long-term organizational goals  
    • Must be capable of gathering and interpreting requirements to develop solutions, and willing to embrace new technologies          
    • Experience with contract management, proposals, requirements management, design product lifecycle processes          
    • Experience with Analytical Graphics STK, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Matlab, or National Instruments Labview
