  This role is highly critical with our internal and external customers as it oversees the execution of the end-to-end product lifecycle Quality Assurance strategy of the organization to ensure the consistent development and delivery of products consistent with customer requirements, government regulations, and established industry standards.



This is an individual contributor and technical leadership role providing technical oversight, coaching, and direction to a team of three to four Program Integration & Customer Quality Engineers
Engages with Business Development, Program Management, and Contract Bid and Proposal teams to review contractual requirements and determine accurate bid information to effectively support contract needs
Plans, coordinates, and manages the Quality Assurance (QA) activities associated with one or multiple New Product Development (NPD) projects as part of a cross functional integrated program team to ensure compliance to customer contractual and regulatory requirements, as well as conformance to AS9100 and AS9145 industry standard requirements
Owns the oversight for and execution of Quality Work Package deliverables including Quality Assurance Planning and successful NPI from D&D to Manufacturing, as well as QA leadership, supporting contract Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) deliverables for both new and existing products for the end-to-end product lifecycle as an active QA representative on Project and Program teams and within area of Technical Leadership
Ensures timely completion of QA deliverables for self and team that meet the company standards for Quality and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure zero product quality escapes
Owns the technical problem solving for issues that may arise on projects and programs, including GIDEP alerts, impacting product Quality throughout the end-to-end product lifecycle providing project and program teams with clear, consistent, and timely feedback as it relates to contractual and/or regulatory exposure providing innovative solutions to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner
Serves as the primary interface to customers, including DCMA, for all Program / Project / Product related Quality matters within scope of responsibility
Provides Quality Assurance Leadership working in partnership with the Program Management, Engineering Design & Development offices, Production / Manufacturing, Customers, and Supplier Quality in efficient, effective, and rapid development of new products
Assure that all applicable elements, product technical and quality standards, and process quality standards are effectively incorporated into new designs and into changes to designs
Provide oversight for internal and external metrology, definition of Critical to Quality (CtQ parameters) and acceptance criteria, disposition of nonconforming materials, and measurement system evaluations, as applicable, for self and team
Performs audits and assessments of the projects and reporting of the audits and assessments to the Project Teams and Program Managers
Develops leading and lagging KPIs for scope of responsibility, as well as goals to measure Quality and Timeliness of Processes
Provides leadership and ownership of all Product Quality Escapes within scope of responsibility driving root cause(s) and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices
Help to develop and implement a company culture of personal accountability
May lead Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities
May conduct briefings with senior leaders
Additional duties may be assigned, as required, based on business needs

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited university
9+ years of work experience in design and development engineering and / or manufacturing engineering
Current DoD Secret Security Clearance required


Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited University with 7 years prior experience
Broad knowledge of and experience with Project Management
Working knowledge of Product Configuration Management
Practical experience with Operational Risk Management throughout the Product Lifecycle
Technical Structured Problem Solving experience.  Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.  Problems are generally solved through creative solutions, drawing from prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues.
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely to various teams within and across the organization 
Presentation skills (verbal/written/visual) required
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines
Ability to productively contribute work, ideas, and collaboration as part of a team
Capable of motivating and influencing others, sustaining high energy and a positive attitude even in the face of challenges and adversity
