THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITES OPERATIONS MANAGER

Responsibilities include the following:
Responsible for the coordination, P&L and execution of thermoplastic manufacturing business.Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, i.e. suppliers, operations, sales, supply chain, legal, management.Accountable for quality control across the manufacturing sites.Ensure timely delivery of product. Develop strategic operational plans to drive revenue growth.
 
Key Accountabilities:
Coordinate, manage contracts and monitor operations at multiple manufacturing sites (internal and external).Coordinate, manage contracts of multiple raw material inputs (external such as polymers and additives).Coordinate production scheduling, balancing needs of the customer with the manufacturing processes.Establish quality standards, monitor and audit quality performance at each manufacturing site. Manage product recipes. Obtain and maintain ISO qualification at each site. Participate in customer trials, product reviews and technical support at customer sites.Participate in new product development activities.Manage finished product inventories.Manage raw material supplier relationships and inventories.Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, pricing, warehousing and distribution.Ensure commercial orders and sample orders are delivered on time. Operate as a central interface between manufacturing, sales and the customer.Create, foster, and implement appropriate and sustainable strategies / tactics to drive improved business results.Utilize financial data to improve profitability, prepare and control operational budgets.
 
Knowledge and Experience:
B.S. Engineering, or related technical field of study. MBA not required, but preferred.3-5 years of experience in an operations manager role within a compounding company.Thermoplastic operations management experience.Automotive supply industry and manufacturing experience preferred.Proven track record in progressively greater and more complex roles, with a minimum of 10-15+ years of plant management experience.Exceptional understanding / knowledge of global manufacturing processes, with capability to work effectively across diverse cultures, production to executive levels and time zones.Ability to motivate teams and influence without direct authority.Up to 50% travel required.
