The Sr Facilities Electrical Engineer has overall responsibility for the electrical infrastructure of the multi-campus enterprise. The role is responsible for the design and implementation of complex engineered solutions along with operational oversight for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of low to medium voltage electrical systems and equipment. Involvement ranges from new construction, renovations, system improvements, and upgrades to maintenance and repairs.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical support for other Project Managers providing electrical systems peer review and guidance during conceptual design, construction document development, construction, and/or commissioning phases for maintenance, repair, renovation, or new construction projects. Typically manages projects with total value under $10M.
  • Project Manager assuming primary planning, estimating, scope development, scheduling, communications, procurement, and budget responsibility for work self-designed or work designed by outsource Consulting Engineers.
  • Areas of activity include but are not limited to 34.5kV primary utility systems; 4,160V campus distribution; 4,160V emergency generation systems; 480V switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, motor control centers, transfer switches; 120/220/208V lighting and power distribution systems and devices; low voltage fire alarm/building automation cabling, and passive telecommunications distribution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience.
  • Licensed as Professional Engineer is desirable.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards including IBC, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to organize, manage and monitor multiple capital and maintenance projects to successful completion, adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to regularly use AutoCad/Revit (preferred) MS Office Suite, MS Project, e-Builder or similar software applications.
