This position is responsible for planning mechanical maintenance work to improve quality, reliability, engagement, cost and operations of the Power/Recovery area of the mill. This role is a member of the Area lead team consisting of the Business Unit Manager, Area Manager, Operations/Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Front Line Leader and will help foster an environment to continuously improve productivity through innovation to achieve exceptional performance of all maintenance personnel and operators. 
This position will plan and schedule all mechanical maintenance work for the area utilizing Journeyman General Mechanics and other resources, such as contractors.  This Mill is a High Performance Work System facility with production personnel performing maintenance and maintenance personnel performing production work as needed.  Mill operational and maintenance areas are expected to be kept neat, clean, organized and following IP 5S procedures (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain). 
The High Performance Team will use the Manufacturing Excellence toolbox methods to consistently improve operations and efficiencies to achieve 3% year over year improvements and 15% year over year reduction in unscheduled downtime for the Power/Recovery area of the mill.  The Franklin Mill has a collaborative work environment where all departments and their employees work with other departments of the mill to achieve mill goals. . 
Qualifications include: 
  • High School diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience managing maintenance and planning in CMMS systems (such as SAP)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience planning maintenance in the paper industry.  Experience in boiler and caustic plant areas is considered a plus
  • Prior experience managing reliability initiatives in preventative maintenance inspections, lubrication inspections, vibration analysis, etc.
