SR. COMMODITY MANAGER-MANUFACTURING

This position manages adhesives, sealants, tapes, metal fasteners as well as contract manufacturing. This position requires managing both internal customer and external supplier relationships and developing sourcing strategies and negotiating supply agreements to ensure we maintain a competitive manufacturing cost position. Typically has responsibilities for $80M - $85M in spend. Reports directly to a senior supply chain manager who supports our commercial roofing business.
This position is located in our corporate office in Denver, CO. Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to put together and implement sourcing strategies, ability to understand and articulate technical requirements, and a history of building strong collaborative relationships.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Identifying respective supply bases and related market dynamics
  • Negotiating supply agreements and developing executive summaries for review with the appropriate executive leadership team members for approval
  • Develop and manage internal and external relationships
  • Lead cross-functional teams as necessary to develop business case for alternate materials, strategies.
  • Provide technical aspect of sourcing needs
  • Ensure uninterrupted and sustainable supply of raw materials and Value-Added Contract Manufacturing Services to facilities and Customers
  • Develops projects and programs to meet cost savings targets and strategies to achieve lower total cost of ownership in commodities managed
Requirement
  • College degree which is either technical related or supply chain/non-technical degree with relevant experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of increasing responsibility in supply chain / sourcing positions and/or relevant experience with commercial roofing products
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen
  • Effective collaboration, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%

  • Demonstrates detailed knowledge of commodity management
  • Ability to produce, analyze, and interpret complex metrics and modeling associated with financial, cost, and performance metrics of supply chain activities
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate ability to create and negotiate supply agreements
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to create raw material sourcing strategies
  • Ability to effectively function in multi-cultures
