Certified First Assistants provide direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures. Positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery, ensuring clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges, controlling bleeding, closing surgery sites using sutures or staples and properly dressing wounds. They also collaborate with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients
Experience and education requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technologists
  • Current ORT certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist with competency in general, OB/GYN, orthopedics, vascular and urology
  • Current BLS certification
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a field

Role is day shift with call 1/5 weekends to start until the staff quota is met then it will move to 1/6 weekends. 
Hours: 7:00-3:30 or 7:00-5:30 depending on candidate preference
