SUMMARY:
 
This position is responsible for operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC systems, hot water, air compressors, and their safe and efficient operations. Must be able to understand and work within the rules and standards of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP). Must be able to work within a total team environment and be able to effectively deal with team members, members of the management team, operations personnel, as well as contractors. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Industrial refrigeration operator/technician experience with RETA training and certification is a plus. 1st Grade Stationary Engineer License (City Of Houston).Need to Operate High Pressure Boiler.Two years of Ammonia Refrigeration Experience. HVAC experience a plus. Troubleshooting and repair knowledge of compressed air systems including compressors and air dryers, etc. Troubleshooting skill with a working knowledge of mechanical and digital control circuits. Assist in PSM/RMP. Strong electrical troubleshooting. Experience building/rebuilding pumps, motors, compressors and electrical components. Ability to work overtime; including weekends, holidays and off-shifts as needed. This individual should be able to work proficiently without supervision. Have adequate plant experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
 
Required to pass and maintain OSHA 40 or 24-hour HAZWOPER and obtain/maintain at least Level 4 as designated to respond as a HAZMAT TM. Be a member and participate in the HazMat team and don applicable PPE. Able to read and understand schematics, diagrams and P&ID’s. Able to understand Temperature/Pressure relation Must have at least 12 months continuous work history with the same employer in the last 18 months. Recent graduates or students currently in school within the last 6 months must add this information under the education notes section.
 
Communication Skills: Must be able speak, read and write fluently in English; and possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills; and interact professionally with all levels of the organization. Travel: Approximately one to two weeks travel per year possible for training.
 
 Special Skills: Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, Motor Controls, and shop equipment operation desired. Experience with Refrigeration systems operation and maintenance a plus.
