Responsibilities: You will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing both global strategies and tactical direction for delivering medical/scientific communication. You will develop a flexible organization that can respond to changes in the pipeline and continue to deliver on evolving business demands and external expectations. 

Primary Responsibilities: 
Therapeutic Strategy Ownership and Implementation of Regulatory Submission, Approval, and Publication Strategy
Partner with Therapeutic areas and business units to:
Lead a team to provide purposeful, label-driven regulatory documents utilizing new ways of authoring.
Lead a team to provide robust publication strategies which reflect an understanding of the external environment (ie, information/knowledge gaps in the literature), timely, appropriate disclosure of research, and new technology/requirements used to disclose data and evidence.
Partner with the Therapeutic Area Medical Leaders to ensure scientific communication strategies and plans are understood and effectively integrated into broader medical molecule plans.
Partner closely with other  relevant functions to effectively plan, forecast, and manage the resources required to deliver all sanctioned projects

Within functional and cross-functional teams, exhibit strong business insight, strong analytical skills and agility to adjust to changing business priorities and needs
Maintain awareness of external environment through benchmarking, external collaborations, contacts and professional organization involvement, and represent your organization at appropriate internal and external venues.
Accountable for fiscal responsibility of Global Scientific Communications.
Ensure that activities are performed according to all applicable guidelines, standard methodologies, and in compliance with all laws and regulations
Drive continuous improvement of key performance metrics
Drive shared learning and process expertise between teams within the organization
People Management and Development
Recruit, develop, and retain a strategic and operationally capable workforce skilled and knowledgeable in scientific communications.
Effectively build and lead an agile organization that continuously meets the needs of a changing portfolio.
Build an organizational culture that fosters diversity, inclusion, and innovation.
Develop staff who demonstrate expertise in drug development, therapeutic area science, critical thinking, project management and cross-functional leadership

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
5 years experience in medical communications, clinical research or pharmaceutical medicine related to the drug development process.
Prior management experience

Additional Skills/Preferences
Bachelor’s or Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MBA) in a healthcare or scientific field
Strong knowledge of the creation and delivery of regulatory, publication, commercialization and/or healthcare communication plans
Ability to coach and develop peers and direct reports
Six Sigma experience
