Our client is a repair business which is headquartered in Foley, AL. The business specializes in the maintenance and repair of nacelles – inlet and fan cowls, thrust reversers, exhaust nozzles, pylons, and a variety of EBU (Engine Build-Up Unit) and QEC (Quick Engine Change) components. Annual sales for the region is $115M, and we employ 300 people. The MRO Americas team is looking for a Repair Engineer to join our team in Foley, AL.

• The Repair Engineer will apply knowledge of engineering principles and techniques in the conception, design and substantiation of repairs for aircraft components such as thrust reversers, inlets, flight controls.
• Resolves design problems of moderate to complex scope.
• Provides proactive technical support to production groups to meet or exceed external and internal customer requirements.
• Creates and improves standard work and utilize lean principles to continuously improve engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Develops and conducts designs for component parts and assemblies for application for aerospace products. 
• Conducts routine analyses to develop options or recommendations for company products.
• Develops processes to accomplish the various procedures in the repair and restoration of components.
• Supports Quality Assurance personnel and Mechanics.
• Collaborates effectively with a cross functional team and coordinates with external customers.
• Performs other duties as required.

*Education / Certifications
BS/BA degree in engineering w/ 4+ yrs. experience.
MS/MA degree in engineering w/ 2+ yrs. experience.

*Experience / Qualifications
• Proficient in standard analysis methods
• Structural analysis background
• Experience with stress analysis of metallic and advanced composite structure including repairs on bonded metallic and composite structure.
• Airframe design and stress experience.
• Ability to perform detail analysis by hand calculations and computer methods.
• Must have intermediate to advance Microsoft Office computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
• Experience working on aircraft modifications and/or in an MRO environment performing design to return aircraft to an airworthy condition preferred.
• Experience and/or training using lean production principles.
• Must be able to work effectively across functional boundaries, and have demonstrated time management skills in order to handle multiple priorities.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must also possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Travel 10%
• At least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
• Ability to follow rules and policies of the company.
• Ability to provide verification of US Citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.
• Must read, write, speak & understand the English language.
• Ability to work under stress, common deadlines, and under pressure.
• Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and others in a team environment displaying mutual trust and respect.
• Ability to be regular and predictable in attendance.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, twist, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 10 pounds for 8+ hours per day.
• Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed.
