The primary responsibility of the Tactical Missile Systems Operations Manager is to manage and coordinate the manufacturing operations, supply chain, product manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and facility and equipment operations.  The Tactical Missile Systems Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the product quality and delivery schedule requirements for the assigned Business Area. 

Specific Responsibilities include:
• Lead strategic planning, coordination with operation groups and execution for Operations of the assigned business area, including hardware deliverables for development programs and other prototype activities.
• Responsible to implement key characteristics required to transition to production at agreed date.
• Integral part of supplier relationships with key suppliers and identifying / qualifying new suppliers.
• Work closely with the other functional leaders, Program Managers and Subcontracts Manager to execute key strategic supply agreements.
• Coordinate inputs to and outputs from the business area leadership team with other functional organizations to ensure objectives are met.
• Ensure product quality and delivery schedule requirements for materials, components, parts, subassemblies, manufactured systems, tooling, and equipment.
• Ensure the development of, manufacture of, certification of and maintenance of manufacturing tooling, equipment, and procedures.
• Work closely with program and engineering personnel to develop production documentation (drawings, bills of materials, and assembly and test procedures).
• Conduct strategic and tactical supply chain planning and execution for programs as agreed with functions and business area.
• Maintain standards and ensure delivery of materials, tooling, equipment, etc. for the program within schedule and budget.
• Set-up, maintain, and ensure compliance with supply chain and manufacturing operations standards and processes.
• Interact with customers as needed and perform production readiness reviews and operations reviews.
• Support development of customer proposals.
• Manage product quality improvements, cost reduction, and process control initiatives.
• Secure and maintain the necessary facilities for supporting the programs.
• Assist with achieving annual Business Area operating performance objectives and metrics.

5+ years’ experience with Missile Systems manufacturing operations experience required.
• Experience in both low volume, high mix and high volume, low mix product categories preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and quality assurance systems, tools, and procedures required.
• Experience with managing a production line or manufacturing plant preferred.
• A natural leader who is not hesitant to lead a cross functional team in order to achieve strategic objectives of the business required.
• Must possess strong and demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Experience in designing and implementing manufacturing tooling and fixtures preferred.
• Ability to design manufacturing cells and flows with optimal performance (cost, yield, cycle time).
• Demonstrated track record of using “Lean Principles and methodologies” to design production systems and performing improvement projects.
• Six Sigma certification to minimum of Green Belt required.
• Must have working knowledge of ITAR compliance requirements.
• Experience in R&D prototype AND production environments a plus.
• Must be comfortable with fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, and be able to effectively communicate with customers, management, peers, team members, and suppliers.
• Ability to support travel.
