Job Description:
• Systems engineer to support the development and test of advanced RF sensors and response systems (electronic countermeasures).
• Work with highly talented, multi-disciplined teams on various aspects of dynamic and challenging advanced EW system projects, with many opportunities for project and group leadership.
• Assignments would involve one or more of the following:
o Logical and systemic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
o Top level system design and architectural development
o System analysis to support performance evaluation, functional design decisions, and detailed trade studies.
o Work in a highly dynamic laboratory to support hardware & software development and integration verification of performance against requirements
o System-level requirements assessment, derived allocation hardware/software requirements, architectural development, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
o Cost and Risk and Supportability and Effectiveness analyses for total systems (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance & disposal)
• BS or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related field (e.g., physics).
• 5-10+ years of relevant work experience
• Technical principles, theories and concepts of basic RF transmitter, receiver, and antenna design principles
• Knowledge of embedded processors, analog and digital hardware, systems architectural development
• Knowledge of digital signal processing, algorithms, and analytical methods
• Engineering development, interfacing and integration of hardware, software and firmware to meet end product requirements
• Electronic systems employing embedded-processing, components, operating systems, drivers, applications and other computing system software
• Electronics components including electrical equipment, digital processing hardware (ASIC, CPLD, FPGA), circuit boards, microprocessor systems, computer system architectures and interfaces
• Strong self-motivation and initiative
• Flexibility to travel for customer purposes as required
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience with one or more computer-based design/analysis tools to support system analyses such as Matlab, Excel/VBA, and programming languages such as C/C++, Python, etc.. Facility with the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• RF radar/communications path estimation-models, noise estimation theory, digital signal processing
• RF Source and measurement instruments (i.e. Spectrum analyzer, Vector Analyzer)
• Probability, statistics, random processes, communications theory, estimation theory, digital signal processing
• Knowledge of NSA standards & systems security
