  1. Oversight and coordination of the bariatric program at Westlake Hospital, working collaboratively with the Bariatric Medical Director. 2.      Ownership of accrediatation process including serving as a liaison between hospital and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accrediatation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) and ensures continuous compliance with requirements. 3.      Develops and implements services within the bariatric program that will meet the needs of the community. 4.      Acts as a liaison between patient, physician, and hospital.  Proactively addresses problems to ensure timely response to any potential patients to assure positive patient satisfaction and optimal outcomes.  5.      Serves as liaison between facility and any surgeon performing metabolic and bariatric surgery at Westlake Hospital. 6.      Provides clinical care directly or indirectly to all areas of surgical weight loss program. 7.      Works collaboratively with the nurse managers and ancillary directors to ensure the delivery of quality bariatric patient care, including offering education, support, and resources as needed. 8.      Provides ongoing support for patients undergoing bariatric procedures. 9.      Provides nursing, ancillary, and medical staff with ongoing education as well as annual compentencies. Develops preoperative and postoperative clinical pathways for the bariatric program. 10.  Facilitates information sessions, support groups, and other community outreach initiatives. 11.  Educates patients, family, hospital staff, medical staff on program and sensitivity issues. 12.  Maintains records and assists in the collection of necessary data. 13.  Maintains, updates, and initiates relevant policies and procedures. 14.  Makes recommendations in terms of inventory procurement and selection. 15.  Champion for high quality, compassionate care for all bariatric patients within hospital. 16.  Conforms to the established Standards of Behavior. 17.  Other duties as assigned. 
 Qualifications:JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Current Illinois Registered Nursing License required. Minimum of three (3) years of inpatient clinical experience.  Current CPR certification. Clinical knowledge regarding the care of bariatric patients and metabolic and bariatric  surgery patients.  Possesses a clinical knowledge in care of surgery patients and extensive knowledge of gastric bypass surgery. Certification in relevant specialty preferred. Membership in appropriate professional organization preferred. Must possess the ability to work well interpersonally with other staff members and to interact with the Medical Director and other Physicians/their office staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexbility; willingness to work evenings/weekends as necessary.
