Job Summary
Designs, and develops all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as medical equipment accessories. Transforms initial rough designs to engineering drawings using 3D CAD Software (Solid Works).
Major Duties
·         Apply knowledge of plastics, metals and materials used in mechanical design
·         Coordinate Product Design Reviews between manufacturing locations
·         Control Drawings standards, create and maintain file storage structures.
·         Apply and specify tolerances commonly used in product design
·         Design products for and manufacturability and supports production on tools, jigs and assembly concepts to produce quality products.
·         Review engineering drawings designs to ensure compliance to establish internal specifications and standards.
·         Create and maintain product specifications.
·         Assure designs meet all customer, regulatory and internal design requirements
·         Project management skills so to support initiatives through the various Manufacturing facilities
·         Work with Operations Team to develop standard operating procedures/methods for changeovers, line setup, and basic equipment care / PM
·         Facilitate cross-functional project teams.
·         Collaborate with offshore engineers and suppliers.
·         Complete Product Changes as needed.
·         Provide daily process technical support to the Operating Teams.
·         Support the continuous improvement process to reduce process/product variation and meet customer expectations.
·         Develop and implement formal corrective action for process and quality related concerns, customer complaints (internal and external).
·         Develop, schedule, and conduct line trials that support process and product improvement efforts or cost reduction.
·         Work with the Quality team to inspect incoming products.
·         First article inspections.
·         Initiate Inspection Reports to correct issues when necessary.
·         Prepare and execute protocols and reports for Installation Qualifications, Operation Qualifications and Process Qualifications.
·         Research regulations pertaining to the importing of materials.
·         Generation of process / material reports and recommendations.
·         Design, analyze and produce quality products and production tooling using SolidWorks, CAD and CAM software.
·         Provide CNC programs for new products, use of CNC manufacturing methods, CNC troubleshooting, use of various CNC machines to efficiently produce accurate designs and products that have high quality in quantity.
·         Aid purchasing with vendor sourcing of new and existing products.
·         Work with product managers to aid in technical support concerning issues with products brought forth by customers.
·         Monitor progress against plan and objectives, taking corrective action when necessary.
·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
·         Associate/Technical Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or other Technical discipline
·         A minimum  6-8  years of progressive manufacturing or maintenance experience with emphasis on process control, continuous improvement, and quality systems  
·         Previous experience designing and analyzing with CAD and CAM software
·         Proficient with PCs, including the Microsoft Office family of products 
·         Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
·         Must be detail oriented, with excellent organizational and presentation skills
·         Strong mechanical knowledge or experience in selection of materials such as plastics, metals, finishes and hardware required.
·         Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, vacuum forming, CNC, milling, welding and laser cutting.
·         Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
·         Ability to interface with outside vendors to source prototype designs.
·         Ability to comply with concepts, practices, and procedures related to AS9100.
·         Must possess a good working knowledge of engineering principles.
·         Must possess working knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
·         Experience working in Medical company with a familiarity with ISO 9001 and 13485
·         Thorough knowledge of process flow and/or process improvement
