Business Development Customer Focal-Aerospace

Primary customer contact responsible for overall relationship and coordination with the customer(s) and accountable for business growth and capture of new business.
Typical Roles/Area of Focus:
The BD customer focal is accountable to develop and implement new business development plans and program capture strategies. Ensure fulfillment of market segment growth and financial objectives.  Create and have full understanding of business case for new business and alignment to portfolio and product line strategies
  Level of Responsibility:
 Foster positive customer relationships and act as customer advocate and liaison between various functions and with Aerospace Systems central customer management.
  • Responsible for some of the strategic decisions during the pursuit process.
  • Lead the evaluation of new business opportunities and make recommendations on bid / no bid decision
  • Develop pricing and negotiation strategies which support company objectives and the strategic plan
  • Lead business pursuit teams which include design engineer, contracts, program management, BD product focals, and finance
  • Drive business growth through new business wins, capturing market share and pricing strategies
  • Validate production demand levels with customer input to verify manufacturing forecast accuracy
  • Proactively monitor market or regulatory changes and identify strategies to address and leverage
  • Based on customer and market needs and trends, identify potential new product development opportunities
  • Lead and coordinate product line reviews and meetings for both internal and external customers
  • Primary contact for customer relationship

*Education / Certifications
  • BA/BS degree w/7+ years experience
  • MA/MS degree w/5+ years experience
  • PhD degree w/4+ years experience
*Experience / Qualifications Program Management Professional preferred.

Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have proven success within a BD role in the aerospace industry - high preference in engines, engine sensors.
This candidate will be interfacing with a primary customer on a variety of sensor products & programs. Occasional travel to Indianapolis and the UK.
