Our Infection Prevention business delivers clinically-proven products and technologies designed to help prevent infections and improve the quality of care. These include our ChloraPrep skin prep products as well as other pre-operative prepping products, surgical hair products, antimicrobial soaps and gels, surgical scrub brushes and general soaps and lotions.  The Research and Development group is actively working on new products to expand our footprint in reducing the risk of hospital-acquired infections. 
Develop preclinical/clinical product development strategies to support global registration of drug, device and combination products
Develop custom study protocols to evaluate safety and efficacy of products
Direct contract labs on preclinical/clinical study execution
Summarize study findings and evaluate relevance to product development path
Review regulatory submission documents for messaging and technical accuracy
Serve a cross-functional member of R&D project teams
Monitor technology landscape to identify potential technology leads
Job Family SummaryInfection Prevention R&D actively advances product development projects by developing a strategy and associated data package to support safety and efficacy of medical drugs and devices.  Activities include technology assessment, feasibility/proof of concept studies, pivotal safety and efficacy evaluations, and full support for global product registration.
MS/PhD in biology, microbiology, pharmacology or life-sciences-related field, PhD or equivalent preferred
Demonstrated success in development and execution of preclinical and clinical studies to support product development and registrations, ANDA/NDA and/or 510-K/PMA/CE mark/international product approval pathways.
Experience in the development of antimicrobials or topical drug products is desirable.
MS 5-7 years, Ph.D. 3-5 years of experience effectively managing internal and contract research laboratories in clinical and nonclinical studies 
Familiarity with GLP/GCP requirements for nonclinical and clinical studies.
Knowledge/Skills: Familiarity with global drug and device development processes.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.  Estimate travel amount is 10%-15%
