Job Summary
A highly skilled, self-directed associate that supports the growth and development of the Buoy Department.  To provide leadership, guidance and support to all associates within the department, to ensure safety, quality and service goals are met. Incorporate the company values that include integrity, innovation and partnership into the team. This is a hands on working Lead position.
Responsible for decisions affecting the quality of goods produced, resources used, personnel and production planning in a cost effective manner.  Maintain knowledge of all operations within assigned department while striving for product/process improvement.
Major Duties
  • Promote a culture where associates, practices and systems are created to promote zero injuries, health risks, environmental impact and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Lead day to day activities effectively to ensure productivity goals and customer requirements are met.
  • To meet or exceed daily production goals for both internal and external customers by working with Buoys Sales Team and setting high standards to reach production quantities without compromising quality.
  • Support Management Objectives and transition team members through process and procedure changes that improve daily productivity, increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained and accurate while supporting inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Train Employees to company standards and ensure all required procedures and processes are followed.
  • Ability to solve problems and can quickly adapt to changes on the production floor.
  • Must have job/product knowledge to lead team(s) in meeting objectives of the organization including planning, expediting, and organization of the Production floor.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Maintain Attendance PTO/Timesheets.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Associate degree or higher preferred
 Relevant Work Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing management experience
  • Must have effective communication skills, confidence and be able to coach, influence, and motivate your Team.
  • Have integrity, be respectful, promote company values, and lead by example
  • Must be versatile, flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Delegate and facilitate as needed
  • Streamline conflict and conflictive employees while being fair/impartial
  • Strong computer knowledge and experience
  • Understanding of production planning and systems
  • Team and leadership skills
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to work with industrial chemicals such as paints and solvents   
  • Ability to operate a fork truck is a plus
  • Ability to work OT as needed
